Nothing

I have been attending one Int'l conference in Bangalore. I have noticed several things.

1. One guy is presenting his paper. The way he speaks is quite irritating in the sense.. repeatedly he was saying "There is nothing in this algorithm. It's just a simple calculation and I have achieved the result". Like people around the world haven't noticed up to this point.
Also, he is pointing out that he got result just before few hours. Who cares?

2. There were some invited talks. (a) One guy from ABB is explaining about ABB's manual (100's of pages). I was just puzzled. (b) One eminent professor is explaining the history instead of presenting the current scenario and challenges.

3. One more point I have noticed is presentation time duration. Every one should deliver their content within the stipulated time (15 minutes). Even though it won't be sufficient to explain the entire content of the work, at least they should stop after 15 or 20 minutes. Up to 10 minutes every one is wasting time and when the chair person rings the bell, they are just reading the slides even the chair person requesting them to stop.

depends on the session chairs... i attended a conference and the session chairs were very strict. and most importantly the participants must uphold the rules.

most of the ppl attend conferences because its going to add value to their resume. some just come there because they can get promotions at their office.

anyways... did u present any paper??? what r u upto these days????

No! I haven't. There were few tutorial sessions by Proff A.G Phadke (very famous for Phasor measurement unit based power plant monitoring and control). Very nice one.

I am looking into that direction.
